HISTORY
Juan Carlos Stekelman was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in March 1936.
After spending a year studying in the Buenos Aires University of Engineering, he chose to follow his dream and started his studies is the Manuel Belgrano School of Arts, where he graduated in 1962.
He was secretary of the the Students Union at the school, and it was there that he started to exhibit his artwork, in both individual and group shows.
In 1963 he travelled to New York and continued his artistic development there. He participated in a wide range of exhibitions and was invited to put together an individual exhibition in the Panamerican Union in Washington.
In 1968 he travelled to London. He successfully continued his artistic development in England, with shows in London, Oxford, Leicester, Brighton, and other cities.
In 1983 he achieve another dream of his, when he graduated as a Bachelor of Arts with a degree in History of Art from the Open University in London.
Since 1989 he has been living once again in Buenos Aires.
His artwork can be found in the permanent collections of the following museums:
